Flower Essence Consultation

Flower essences are gentle remedies that support emotional balance and
inner resilience during times of stress, transition, and personal growth.

Flower essences are a gentle, supportive way to work with emotional patterns and life transitions. They are often used alongside herbal medicine, helping to bring balance to the emotional and mental states that shape our overall wellbeing.

Developed in the early 1900s by English physician Dr. Edward Bach, these remedies were designed to help restore harmony between our inner emotional life and the body. Rather than addressing physical symptoms directly, Bach flower essences focus on emotional states such as fear, overwhelm, uncertainty, grief, or exhaustion.

This type of support can be especially helpful during periods of transition, including the shift into motherhood, when emotional demands, fatigue, and new responsibilities can leave many women feeling stretched thin.

What Are Bach Flower Essences?

Flower essences are often confused with essential oils, but they are made and used very differently.

Essential oils are distilled and contain the concentrated aromatic compounds of plants.

Flower essences are created by placing fresh blossoms in spring water and allowing the sun (or gentle boiling) to imprint the energetic pattern of the flower into the water. The finished essence is preserved with brandy and used in very small amounts.

Because they work at an energetic and emotional level, flower essences are considered a subtle form of therapy. They are safe, gentle, and do not interact with herbs or medications.

Dr. Bach developed 38 individual remedies, each corresponding to a particular emotional state, along with the well-known Rescue Remedy blend for moments of shock or acute stress. If you would like a deeper look at the history and philosophy behind Bach Flower Remedies, you can read more here:

How Flower Essences Are Used

Flower essences are rarely used as single remedies. Instead, they are blended into a personalized combination that reflects the emotions and experiences you are currently working through.

The goal is not to “treat” feelings, but to gently support emotional balance while new perspectives and inner resilience emerge.

People often describe the experience of working with flower essences as gradual and unfolding. Layers of emotion begin to shift over time, much like a rose slowly opening in bloom.

A Gentle Support for Emotional Transitions

Flower essences can be especially supportive during times of emotional change — new motherhood, major life transitions, periods of grief or uncertainty, or moments when life simply feels overwhelming.

They offer a quiet but steady way to reconnect with your inner balance while the body and mind find their way back to equilibrium.

What a Flower Essence Consultation Looks Like

A flower essence consultation is a collaborative conversation.

During our one-hour session, we talk through what you are currently experiencing — the challenges, emotions, and transitions that are shaping your life right now.

Together we identify the underlying emotional patterns beneath the situation and explore several flower remedies that may help bring balance and perspective.

After the session, I prepare a personalized blend of flower essences based on the remedies we selected together and send it to you with instructions for use.

Flower essences are typically taken daily for several weeks. A follow-up session around three weeks later allows us to discuss any shifts you’ve noticed and adjust your blend if needed.

Each person’s experience is unique. Some people notice emotional shifts quickly, while for others the change is more gradual and becomes clear only in hindsight.
